Pastor Charlie, Rebecca, and their two
children Mollie (11) and Charles (9), came
to Titusville, FL in April 2007 to start a new
ministry
out of a dying church. After
several months of planning and
strategizing, New
Venture Church was
officially launched in January 2008 with
about 20 people. According to Charlie,
“Church planting is
tremendously difficult,
but the reward of seeing changed lives
is well worth
the sacrifice!"
Charlie brings 20 years of ministry experience
to New Venture Church. His first
ten years of
ministry was in the denominational setting of
The United Methodist
Church, followed by ten
years of non-denominational ministry.
Charlie
has led churches ranging in size of membership
from under 100 people to over 1,500 members
in the states of
Tennessee, Indiana, North
Carolina, and now Florida.
Charlie holds degrees from East Tennessee State
University (Bachelor of Science
in Psychology
and Speech Communication ’94) and Asbury
Theological Seminary
(Master of Divinity ’98).
He has also travelled across the United States
visiting and learning from some of the largest
and fastest growing churches in
the country.
Charlie’s passion is reaching people who have
given up on church
and who don’t have a
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Charlie played several sports in both high school
and
college, but particularly loves college
football! Charlie grew up in East
Tennessee
and his family lived near Knoxville, so he has
been a Tennessee
Volunteer football fan for
years. Over the years, Charlie has coached Jr.
High and Sr. High School sports, as well as local
youth sports currently through the
Titusville
YMCA. Apart from sports, he is also an avid
movie fan!
His wife, Rebecca, enjoys several hobbies
including scrapbooking, quilting,
sewing,
knitting, etc. Her ministry passion is media
ministry and currently
organizes and develops
the visual media ministry for Sunday morning
worship.
Mollie loves to sing for our Kidventure
ministry on Sundays and is an up-and-coming
artist! She will be graduating this fall to our
Unleashed Student
Ministry. Charles loves
sports and is actively involved in Kidventure
ministry
on Sundays at NVC.
The Arms family has made a long-term
commitment to Titusville and to New
Venture
Church. Charlie’s long-term vision includes
being a church which
reproduces itself by
sending people out to plant more new
churches/ministries along the Space Coast.
